Vientiane is beautiful. There are temples everywhere, cafes on every street and swarms of tuktuks to bring you to your next stop. I found the tuktuk drivers to be very nice and friendly here compared to places like Thailand. Just remember that they will probably double the price. Bargain with them don’t accept the first fare unless you want to be ripped off!
A few stops that are a must while in Vientiane are:
Pha That Luang – series of temples on the same grounds. There’s a large leaning Buddha there as well
Patuxai – Large arch in the center of the city. You can pay a small amount and climb to the top which is worth it!
You can also visit the Mekong River but there’s not too much to do during the day. I believe the night market is beside the river (we didn’t have the chance to visit unfortunately).
I wish I could’ve seen more! I’ll be going again 🙂
